The Ministry of Business in Guyana identified that export diversification should be bolstered such that the economy is not so dependent on volatile commodity prices. This report fills a research gap by focusing at the higher end of the value chain, examining in detail the challenges faced by actors associated with the processing and export of value added products from Guyana to high value international markets. It specifically focuses on three supporting systems: finance, market research and product development, and standards.
